1 Killed in Southern Idaho Accident North of Twin Falls Saturday
Saturday and Sunday were deadly days on Idaho roads. Idaho State Police responded to a number of vehicle accidents, two of which ended as fatality crashes. Both fatality accidents were single-vehicle crashes, one involved a motorcycle and the other was an SUV rollover.
1 Killed in Motorcycle Accident Near Caldwell Sunday Afternoon
Sunday afternoon, around 3:45, ISP responded to a fatality motorcycle accident south of Caldwell at the Star Road and Indiana Avenue intersection:
A 2015 Honda ST1300 Motorcycle driven by a 60-year-old male from Nampa, was traveling west on Lone Star when it left the right shoulder of the roadway and crashed.
The male succumbed to his injuries at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet.
1 Killed in Southern Idaho Accident Near Wendell Saturday Afternoon
Early Saturday morning, around 12:45, ISP responded to a crash on I-84 in Gooding County:
A 27-year-old male from Lubbock, Texas, was traveling eastbound on Interstate 84 in a 2011 Ford Edge. The vehicle drove off the left shoulder of the roadway, overcorrected, and rolled.
The driver was wearing a seatbelt. Witnesses on scene transported the driver to a local medical center where he was later transported by air ambulance to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
All accidents mentioned in this story are being investigated by Idaho State Police.
2 Sent to Hospital After 3-Car Accident in Idaho
ISP also responded to a non-fatality accident Sunday morning on I-84 near the Oregon border southwest of New Plymouth:
A 2009 Nissan Rogue, driven by a 30-year-old male from Caldwell, was stopped on the right shoulder of westbound I84. While attempting to re-enter traffic, the Rogue was struck by a 2021 Cascadia Freightliner semi, driven by a 48-year-old male from Candler, North Carolina. The Cascadia was also occupied by a 58-year-old male from Hickory, North Carolina. A 2020 Freightliner tractor-trailer, pulled off to the right shoulder, to avoid the collision with the other two vehicles and slid down the embankment and onto its side. The 2020 Freightliner was being driven by a 49-year-old male from Garner, North Carolina.
The driver and passenger of the Cascadia semi were transported to a local area hospital via ground ambulance.
Traffic was blocked for more than 10 hours on I-84 as crews assisted the injured and with cleanup.
