A fatal accident was reported by the Idaho State Police in Northern Idaho near Lake Pend Oreille involving a semi-truck and a Honda SUV. The driver of the SUV passed away at the scene of the accident, and the crash is being investigated by the ISP.

The semi-truck and SUV were the only vehicles involved in the accident, and the drivers were the only occupants of the vehicles.

The deadly crash happened around 2:25 PM on Tuesday, June 9th, on Highway 200 near mile marker 46 near the city of Hope. The ISP report states:

A 75-year-old female from Clark Fork, Idaho, was traveling eastbound on SH200 driving a blue 2015 Honda Pilot.

A 2020 Freightliner, driven by a 72-year-old male from Chattaroy, Washington, was traveling westbound on SH200.

The Honda crossed into the westbound lane of SH 200 and crashed head-on into the semi-truck. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, but the driver of the Honda passed away in the crash.

The crash blocked traffic for more than 6 hours while first responders worked the scene.

The Idaho State Police also reported a single-vehicle rollover accident on Thursday afternoon, also in Northern Idaho. The accident happened around 1 PM on State Highway 41, north of Wyoming Ave, near the city of Rathdrum.

A 26-year-old male, from Hayden, ID, was driving a gold 2006 Toyota Highlander when he drifted off the right shoulder, overcorrected, and lost control.

The vehicle slid across the northbound lanes and went into the median, where it rolled and landed on its roof, blocking both southbound lanes of State Highway 41.

The driver was trapped inside the vehicle until rescue crews arrived to help. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was transported by air ambulance to a local medical center, Kootenai Health.
