Is Flirty Texting Cheating? Magic Valley Has Overwhelming Reaction
We all have temptation in our lives and all have struggles we deal with. It can come in many different aspects. Some of us struggle with food, some with depression, and some with loneliness. Whatever the temptation is and the struggle, we all have our problems. What would you do if one of your friends came to you with a problem, and you weren't sure how to handle it. If you had a friend that struggled with loneliness and boredom, what would be your advice?
Is Texting the Opposite Sex Cheating?
I have a friend that is dating a girl, but he gets lonely and bored at work in the day. He began texting another girl he met online, while in a relationship, to help pass time and have someone to talk to through the day. He claims he isn't cheating and that they haven't exchanged pictures or videos, but that they connect extremely well. It sounds like the conversations have been a little flirty, but nothing over the top. As his friend, I want to support him, but the question is, without ever meeting this girl, is he cheating? The Magic Valley had a lot to say on this topic and here are some of the best responses:
There are some heavy opinions on here, but the overwhelming consensus is no matter how my friend tries to defend himself or define what he is doing, it is cheating on his girlfriend. I do not know what his girlfriend knows or doesn't know, but it does put me in an awkward situation. I tried to defend him, but it looks like we are outnumbered.
Without meeting, touching, or even seeing each other, I think he can justify his reasoning, but the rest of the Magic Valley seems to heavily disagree. Time will tell what happens between him and his new friend, as well as him and his girlfriend. It is his decision to make, but is he cheating, or just someone in need of more friends and things to do at work?
