There are enthusiastic gun collectors, and then there are the kinds of people who fanatically prepare themselves as if the next world war is imminent on their front lawn. A California man has some explaining to do after police reportedly found more than 260 firearms including illegal, military-style automatic weapons along with more than a million rounds of ammunition.

John Rambo is alive and well and living in California's Bay Area. Following a raid of a man's home, authorities collected enough weaponry to single-handedly defeat a small army in the city of Richmond, which is located 30 miles northeast of San Francisco.

According to information provided by KRON 4, the stockpile included grenades, 60 assault rifles, 3,000 large-capacity magazines, seven shotguns, and 20 silencers. The man's identity hasn't been released, according to the KRON report.

I'm all for gun ownership, but if you've got enough weaponry to arm the A-Team then there might be an obsession that needs to be addressed.

The average number of guns owned per household in the United States is somewhere between eight and 17, according to data from the Motley Fool. That means police confiscated more than 25 times this amount from a single American this week; his neighbors should be elated they didn't do anything to piss him off before the arrest.
