South Idaho Teacher’s Student Fight Club ‘Appalling’ Say Police
Police in southern Idaho are continuing to investigate a middle school teacher who was arrested days ago for allegedly recording his students fighting in a classroom for the purpose of sharing the videos to social media. One Caldwell investigating officer has described the teacher's actions as "appalling."
It's been over a week since Ettson Arreola, 20, was arrested and charged for allegedly encouraging some of his students to physically strike one another while being recorded. Arreola was employed by Syringa Middle School at the time of the incident which brought attention to the matter. The school is located in Garden City, Idaho, which is located just a couple miles outside of Boise.
A timer was allegedly set by the instructor in which the kids were encouraged to fight until it went off, according to details shared by FOX News. The state of Idaho has reportedly charged Arreola with multiple counts of injury to a child, inciting a riot, and encouraging minors to fight, according to FOX News.
One of the words used to describe the video reportedly filmed by the teacher from Caldwell Police Chief Rex Ingram was "appalling," according to Fox News. This case remains an ongoing investigation. The arrest was made by Caldwell police on January 27.
