Most Idaho families are going over menus for the Thanksgiving holiday and getting their homes cleaned up for company this week. Thanksgiving arrives Thursday (November 27), and early weather forecasts for southern Idaho appear to be favorable, but we all know how quickly that can change.
Just yesterday, we got together as a family and decided on what we were serving up for Thanksgiving, along with taking notes from dinner guests on what dishes they preferred. Turkey, ham, rolls, stuffing, green bean casserole, bacon-wrapped brussels sprouts, and candied yams made the menu so far.

Many Boise State University students and others from surrounding schools will be hitting the highway next week in search of a home-cooked meal and updates on family gossip. Weather can certainly factor into whether or not holiday travel is going to be a pain in the butt or not. Freeways and flight paths will be jam-packed next week as millions of Americans will be traveling.
The current, extended forecast for southern Idaho looks pretty good for Thanksgiving week. Daytime temperatures (so far) will be in mid to upper forties with partly cloudy skies all next week, according to weather.com, which shouldn't present any challenges for travel, both by plane and automobile.
