If you've lived in southern Idaho a while, you know the weather can't be completely trusted. The words 'extended forecast' don't really apply there, and March has been one of those months that's been completely unpredictable.
This March has been unusually warm for this time of year in the Magic Valley. We've seen 80-degree temperatures multiple days over the past two weeks, and it's been a while since the mountains have had any good snow accumulations.
It's been so bad as far as the region's snowpack is concerned that some ski resorts have announced early-season closures. One area lodge recently announced a fundraiser to help cover expenses after experiencing extremely low snowfall totals.
