Too Many Idahoans Are Choosing Work Over Living, Study Says
Being overworked is something that many Americans know all too well. A study has determined that Gem State workers are very poor when it comes to achieving a balance between jobs and personal time.
Americans are viewed by many in other countries as people who work until they die. Money is the most important thing in life to many people, and in order to have any sort of life at all, those people will argue that a paycheck is mandatory. Is it even possible to enjoy life without two paychecks a month?
The data strongly suggests that workers in the Gem State aren't spending enough time out of the office doing things they really enjoy.
I know what it's like to work too much. There's a term called "over-employed," which is when a person has multiple jobs. Until just about four months ago, I fell into this category.
Up until June of this year, I worked an eight to 10-hour job, then came home and worked another two hours on average for a separate company. While I did enjoy my paychecks, I will say I felt completely disconnected from my wife and kids, and this type of existence is definitely not a healthy one.
Some people have no choice in the matter. The cost of living has gotten so out of control that people are having to resort to balancing at least two jobs, and burnout from working too many hours is a common denominator for most of these individuals.
A Solitaire Bliss study from 2022 has found that Idaho is one of the top work-driven states in the country. The data strongly suggests that workers in the Gem State aren't spending enough time out of the office doing things they really enjoy.
