BURLEY, Idaho (AP) — A civil lawsuit filed by a former Burley High School student against the Cassia County School District has been settled.

The Times-News reports that a hearing scheduled for Jan. 4 has been vacated, with court notes indicating the case has settled. The girl and her parents filed the lawsuit after former Vice Principal Tara Bagley was convicted in July 2013 of sexual abuse committed by lewd or lascivious acts on a minor child 16 to 17 years old. Bagley was sentenced to two consecutive 4- to 13-year prison terms.

The lawsuit was filed in Oct. 14 against Bagley, the district, Superintendent Gaylen Smyer, former Principal Carolyn Hondo and the school board. The district denied all allegations. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed in court papers.
