September 11th should not be seen as a promotional opportunity.  It should always be respected and honored.  However, some national brands like AT&T, Marriott, and Pretzel Crisps gave their 9/11 promotions a go and failed miserably.

Here's AT&T's attempt to promote poorly and of course social media rebuffed:

They all apologized for putting their products before the thousand who died twelve years ago.

To me, this one is a no brain-er.  On 9/11 you respect 9/11 period.  Who cares if it was twelve years ago, it happened.  We should never forget it.  It's in the history books now.  You don't see anyone mess with Pearl Harbor Day do you?  Both days are sacred and will always be.

What do you think?
