October kicked off in the Magic Valley with an annual event hosted by a Twin Falls imaging and medical center that raised money for preventative testing and honored southern Idaho cancer survivors.

I arrived at the parking lot of Innovative Medical Imaging Wednesday morning at ten minutes to seven. It was still dark out, and a chilly 49 degrees.

Upon arrival, healthcare staffers were busy stocking pop-ups with items they would be handing out to motorists between 7 A.M. and 10 A.M., at 512 Pole Line Road East, Suite One. The color pink was abundant as the 20 or so employees were preparing to greet at their stations.

The 2025 Brake For Breakfast is an annual celebration of breast cancer survivors, as well as an opportunity to remind the community of the importance of early detection.

'One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime,' said organizer Ramey Molitor during an interview that aired on vehicle and office radios on KEZJ (95.7 FM) during the event.

Ramey and her team handed out breakfast bags, Dutch Bros. Coffee gift cards, pink wristbands, coffee tumblers, blankets, and other schwag to motorists who passed through the line. Horns honked all morning from both passing cars and trucks along Pole Line Road, and breast cancer survivors who drove themselves through the parking lot.

Townsquare Media would like to thank the staff at Innovative Medical Imaging, members of the Twin Falls Fire Department who were there raising money through Tough Enough to Wear Pink with money for mammograms, and most importantly, all of those who attended who have been affected by cancer and continue to stay strong and fight hard.

Never feel alone!
