Idaho Victims Of ‘Final Destination’ Style Gas Explosion Healing
The victims of a 2024 gas station explosion are continuing to recover nine months after the incident happened east of Moscow, Idaho. Two people were killed that day.
Two people were killed and two were badly injured after a fuel tanker exploded at a gas station in Cardiff, Idaho, on September 11 of last year. The small community, located 80 miles east of Moscow, is still recovering and helping raise money for the victims through GoFundMe.
The footage of the destruction, which engulfed the entire gas station off Highway 11, looked like something out of the horror movie Final Destination: Bloodlines, which was released May 16. The fact the explosion happened on September 11 is also eerie.
Victims of Horrific September 2024 Idaho Gas Station Explosion Still Recovering
Multiple vehicles and structures were burnt beyond recognition and two station staffers lost their lives, according to KREM 2 News. The two surviving victims, Donny Billeter and Roxann Hubbs, were both released from the hospital later in 2024 and are recovering from major burns.

More than $10,000 has been raised to help the victims with hospital bills and lost work. It took several area firefighters hours to fully extinguish the blaze that resulted from petroleum vapors igniting. Multiple law enforcement agencies, as well as hazardous materials teams, also responded to assist in the investigation and recovery efforts, according to the Idaho Department of Insurance.
