National health data is suggesting that now might be a good time to schedule a COVID-19 booster to help lessen the impact of the deadly virus that is reportedly spreading once again in the Gem State. Current Centers for Disease Control and Prevention information has Idaho listed as one of 16 states where the virus is re-emerging.

With the kids now back in school in Idaho, it's only a matter of time before sickness hits Gem State families hard. Illnesses are unavoidable this time of year as fall is one month away and schools are basically at the mercy of parents when it comes to sending their kids to class potentially sick.

The last substantial spike in Idaho took place in 2022, and health officials are urging people to take precautions against the virus sooner rather than later.

The CDC is reporting that Idaho is one of the top 16 states where COVID-19 cases are on the rise, according to data released August 13. California, South Dakota, Minnesota, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, and Georgia have seen some of the larger spikes in cases, according to the CDC. An updated release of the current variants and symptoms to watch out for was published on August 21.
