When I was a kid the word "stupid" was considered a bad word in my home, but "redneck" was a badge worn proudly. So is "redneck" a bad word in your home?

First, I looked up the word "redneck" on Google and here's what I found:

a working-class white person, especially a politically reactionary one from a rural area.

Then I had to look up the word "reactionary" and got this:

(of a person or a set of views) opposing political or social liberalization or reform.

After looking up "redneck," maybe I should stop using it? What say you?

I want to be VERY clear here, I DO NOT believe in harming or hating on any group for any reason. I get that times have changed and sometimes we treat the general public with kid gloves. Sometimes people are too sensitive, sometimes we are not sensitive enough. It's a strange delicate balance that is anything but balanced.

Here's my take on the word "redneck"

To me, the word "redneck" does NOT mean a white supremacist hating on everyone and everything that is not like him.  To me, rednecks are hard working country folks who put family first. Who work hard to provide. Who work hard and play harder! Notice all the times I wrote "work"? I'm proud to call myself a redneck!
