With as much as first responders have to deal with on a day-to-day basis and as much as they have to wonder if they're going into an unsafe situation, it's nice to see the fun side of the people behind the badge.

One of Idaho's Best-Run Social Media Pages For Officers Wins The Internet

If you aren't following the Jerome Police Department on Facebook, you're definitely missing out. They've become known for their unique sense of humor and for conveying important information to the public in fun and unique ways.

They recently linked up with a photographer named Layton Henderson out of Twin Falls for a hilarious photoshoot.

"I was actually scrolling through TikTok when I found another photographer on my 'For You' page," Layton shared with us over the phone, "She did a photoshoot with her local police department, and I thought it was absolutely hilarious."

Layton, 21, has been doing photography for about six years and immediately thought of Jerome police when she came across the TikTok post.

"They would be the perfect police department to do this photoshoot with," she shared.

"Hey, this is gonna be absolutely crazy but I'm a photographer in Twin Falls and I would love to do this photoshoot with Jerome Police Department," she told them.

Their reply?

"They are going to love this, let me get you in contact with the chief (Dennis)," they told her.

Layton and the chief got into contact, and she received an invitation to one of their more formal meetings when the officers would be in their best uniforms.

"I spoke with Dennis about the whole deal, and the night before, I think he was on patrol, but he texted me at like 11 o'clock at night," Layton shared before revealing his late-night message.

"'Hey, I just got a great idea,' and I was like, 'Oh man, what's your great idea?' He said, 'What if we do some pictures here with the fire department too?'"

When Layton showed up, she brought props that included donuts and a fishing pole.

"That department is so much fun to be around," Layton said on the phone.

The Jerome Police Department Is Going Viral

Thanks to Layton's idea, the Jerome Police Department post is now going viral. Layton sounded overjoyed on the phone that people found the humor and joy in her work.

She says she plans on saving the money she earns working for her family's coffee trailer to upgrade and buy a new camera, but before that, she wants to get herself a newer vehicle that can get her around to new photoshoots.
