What would you do? What would you do if you were out at the lake, at the river, or at a park enjoying a nice summer day, go to a public restroom, and drop your phone into it? Would you stick your hand in and go fishing for it? Would you ask someone to help you get it? If it is a deep toilet, do you ask to borrow someone's phone and call for help to get it out? Do you leave it and accept the loss and buy a new phone? It sounds disgusting but people constantly drop their phones in the toilet, but there is a big difference between your home toilet and a public one, especially in a park, at a lake, or a river.

We have all heard stories from a friend, a coworker, a family member, or perhaps yourself, that a phone drops into a toilet and stops working or has to be in rice to get it working again. Typically these stories take place at home or someone's house where the toilet is clean, and in a worst-case scenario lands in something that came out of the person who drops the phone. You rarely hear about it happening in public places, but if it did, would you leave the phone or would you attempt to get it back? If you got it back, would you even want to use it again, or would it be more about protecting your personal information on the phone?

With the weather getting warm many will be making their way to Centennial Park this summer, Dierkes Lake, and other many places as they hit the water, parks, and go hiking. Recently, my family and I went and had dinner down at Centennial Park and when going to the restroom and seeing how deep and dark the hole was, I couldn't help but think of the times my friends have talked about dropping their phones in a toilet, and what it would be like to lose it in one of these types of restrooms. The hole is too deep to reach in and grab it out even if you are willing to, and it would cause a dilemma. Even if someone were able to retrieve it, would you want it back, not knowing what all it has on it?

This is one reason I never have my phone out near these types of restrooms, because while I never have dropped my phone in a toilet, I don't want one of these kinds to be the first one it goes in. The good news is if you are able to retrieve it, your information is safe, but it is best to get new phone either way and never use the nasty one ever again. If this unique and disgusting situation ever does happen to you, what would you do?
