Injury Crash East of Twin Falls on Highway 30
Wednesday afternoon the Idaho State Police assisted at an accident east of Twin Falls on US30.
3 Sent to Hospital After Accident Near Twin Falls
The accident happened at the intersection of Highway 30 and 3400 East. Both drivers were taken to hospitals, one by air ambulance and the other by personal vehicle, and a juvenile passenger was also transported by air ambulance.
A 40-year-old female from Kimberly was driving northbound on 3400 East in a 2023 Subaru Legacy. A 24-year-old-female from Malad City was driving eastbound on US30 in a 2022 Jeep Compass. The driver of the Subaru Legacy failed to yield from the stop sign at the intersection of 3400 East and US30, colliding with the Jeep Compass.
The driver and a juvenile passenger in the 2023 Subaru were wearing seatbelts. Both were transported by air ambulance to a local area hospital. The driver of the Jeep Compass was wearing a seatbelt and was transported to a local area hospital by a personal vehicle.
The intersection was blocked for about 2 and a half hours. ISP was assisted by local emergency responder teams from the Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office, Kimberly-Hansen Police Department, Rock Creek Fire Department, Twin Falls Fire Department, Magic Valley Paramedics, Air St. Lukes, and the Idaho Transportation Department.
The crash is being investigated by the Idaho State Police. The accident is just to the east of Chobani and north of the Clif Bar factory. In December of 2019, a police officer was hit in the same area by a driver who also failed to yield the right of way at the intersection.
