'Tis the season to really ramp up that electricity bill. Merry Christmas, and welcome to the only time of year that people don't really care how much it costs to turn your home into a winter wonderland. The good folks at NASA are in the holiday spirit too, and it's probably because they can actually see your Christmas light displays from space. Yep, you heard that right.

NASA is reporting that satellite images can show that certain cities will shine way brighter, almost 30 percent, during this holiday season. And out in the suburbs, some areas shine much more than that, up to 50 percent brighter. And, miraculously enough, all of these festive lights can be seen from space.

So, if your house is the flashiest and most Christmas-y on the block, then rest assured, it is now being enjoyed from the International Space Station. Check out the cool video from NASA below, and Merry Christmas, y'all!
