Oncoming Cold Front Could Bring New Year’s Snow To Twin Falls

With Christmas in the rearview mirror, it's time to start planning where we'll spend the countdown to 2025 in the Magic Valley. Some will be driving to gatherings and an approaching cold front could make travel a bit tricky on Tuesday evening into Wednesday.

Southern Idaho looks to be in for some early winter weather next week. January is known as one of the snowiest months in this state region, and Thursday will be the day we hang the new 2025 calendars that many of us got for Christmas up on the wall.

January will begin with temperatures in the low to middle 30s and a 20 percent chance of rain for southern Idaho, according to weather.com. The National Weather Service is forecasting a chance of snow for Wednesday (New Year's Day) as well for the Twin Falls area. Google Weather also is predicting snow for the region for New Year's Day, as well as a combination of rain and snow for Saturday (January 4).

The Farmer's Almanac for January through April 2025 in the United States is forecasting a wet and snowy season for the western United States with fewer dry days in between than the previous winter.
