Over the past 2 weeks numerous buildings have collapsed in Idaho and Oregon due to heavy snow and rain. Some of these buildings were onion plants and onion storage facilities.

According to The Packer some onion businesses lost up to 4,200 bins of onions. Onion farmers are experiencing a great loss. This loss will ultimately affect all of us. Unless, you hate onions.

David Sparks with Ag Info stated Four Rivers Onion Packing anticipates bags of onions will raise in price over the next few weeks due to supply and demand. Currently bags of onions cost around $6.50. With an onion shortage bags of onions in Oregon and Idaho will probably reach $10.00 or more.
