Opinion: Card Collectors Should Invest Heavily In This BSU Bronco

The Boise State Broncos have gone from a team no one was really talking about at the start of the football season to a program many believe will win the national championship this year. People are throwing money down in Vegas on BSU, and the reason for that is the number two jersey in the backfield.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Those in southern Idaho have front-row seats to the type of football player who only comes around every so often. Ashton Jeanty is doing things this year that could cement him in the college record books as one of the greatest ever.

Jeanty is a junior running back from Florida who transferred to Boise State and still has seven regular season games remaining to show what he's capable of this year. He's listed as 5'9" and 215 pounds, and no one in college football seems to be able to get this dude down to the turf on a consistent basis.

His collegiate sports cards are going for close to $500 already. To put this into perspective, Jerry Rice's rookie card you can find online for about $100, and he won three Super Bowls and is considered by many to be the greatest NFL receiver of all time.

He's on pace for nearly 2,700 yards and over 40 touchdowns, according to ESPN. He gave an interview on the network last week about his historic season, one that could see him break records held by former NFL great Barry Sanders.
