If you haven't followed Boise State football closely over the past few weeks, you may not know that the team is on a heater and is slowly creeping toward being a top 10 program in the country. A win Saturday night could stamp the Broncos as a serious national championship contender.

Boise State's stomping of San Diego State last week was the team's sixth straight win in front of another sold-out home crowd. Boise State is currently 7-1 having lost its only game to Oregon (37-34) back on September 7. Last week's victory propelled the program to #12 in the AP Top 25 Poll.

If Boise State wins out, they might be considered a serious threat to win the national championship to those who don't believe they are already.

A major reason for the team's run has been the insane play of running back and Heisman Trophy frontrunner Ashton Jeanty. With four games remaining, Jeanty has already racked up over 1,500 yards rushing, 20 touchdowns, and is averaging eight yards per rush. The play of sophomore quarterback Maddux Madsen has also produced results with 1,789 yards passing, 17 touchdowns, and just two interceptions, according to ESPN.

Boise State has remaining games left against Nevada, San Jose State, Wyoming, and their final game of the year at home against Oregon State on November 29. The team's final regular season game will be nationally televised and will play a major role in AP Poll placement heading into bowl season.
