August in Idaho has seen more reported incidents of unidentified aerial phenomena than any other state in the U.S. From the panhandle to the southern desert, Idaho witnesses have been contacting a Washington-based investigatory center to report a wide range of unusual objects in the sky above.

This year is shaping up to be a record-breaking one in terms of UAP incidents in the Gem State. The National UFO Reporting Center in Washington State has already investigated and published findings on six incidents since August 1, according to data on the website. The next closest state is New York with five incidents reported this month.

The most recent sighting took place on August 9 near New Centerville. Three witnesses described a translucent, circular object at approximately 3000 feet, according to the NUFORC report.

On August 1, a Boise witness reported a shape-shifting object in the sky, according to the NUFORC. Sightings in Sagle, Caldwell, Kimberly, and Donnelly then followed, with each report describing a different form of UAP.

The most recent sighting took place on August 9 near New Centerville. Three witnesses described a translucent, circular object at approximately 3000 feet, according to the NUFORC report. The object was described as being the size of a small airplane with lights around the craft.
