8 Places to Enjoy in the Magic Valley For Pizza Lovers
Finding places to eat in a new town can always be difficult. You don't know what is good or not, what is affordable or expensive, and what is known as the best in town. While most of us get into a routine and eat at the same places consistently, it is nice to branch out and try new places from time to time. We usually rely on our friends and neighbors to guide us to a new place, and sometimes we just go to the one we see driving down the road. One food most agree on is always good is pizza, and there are plenty of great pizza places around Twin Falls and the Magic Valley. There might be a few hidden around you that you aren't even aware of. Here are a few places you may not be aware of and may want to check out the next time you decide to have a pizza night.
Pizza Planet in Buhl is a Hidden Gem
When hearing the name Pizza Planet, you may be like me and instantly think Toy Story, but this is not that place. If anything, I think this one has been around longer. It is tucked away in Buhl on Main Street and might be one of the best pizzas not only in the Magic Valley but also in the entire state of Idaho. They usually have great deals going, have fresh ingredients, and are reasonably priced. I have never had a bad experience with them and it is one of my go-to pizza places. It may be a little out of Twin, but it is worth the drive for the quality you get.
Maxie's Pizza is a Staple of the Twin Falls Area
One of the first places I was told to try when I moved to Twin Falls was Maxie's Pizza. I have been told how good the food is, as well as to go soon cause they are for sale. As long as nobody has bought them, they are continuing to operate and make and sell some delicious pizza and pasta. If you like some extra side dishes, this is the place to visit as they have way more than just pizza. They have amazing pasta, bread, and lasagna as well. They are located on Blue Lakes near Kimberly Road, as well as another location in Kimberly.
Train Station Pizza is One of the Best in the Magic Valley
Train Station Pizza is another hidden gem in the town of Buhl. It is located on the west side of town on Highway 30. This place has been recommended by multiple people I have spoken with and is supposed to be one of the best pizzas in all of the Magic Valley. Like Pizza Planet, it is a bit of a drive from Twin, but it is worth it. If you are in the area or looking to try something local that you can't get anywhere else, then make the 15 to 20-minute commute out to Buhl and try Train Station. Your tummy will be glad you did.
Slice Pizza in Downtown Twin Has Unique Dessert Pizzas
If you want to enjoy a nice day downtown shopping and enjoying the area, a great place to grab a slice is at...well Slice. Located on Main Street in downtown Twin, this place offers a prime location, delicious pizza, and even some fun drinks. Imagine spending a perfect day with a cocktail, some pizza, and sitting outside downtown enjoying a beautiful sunny day. Make sure to stop by Slice the next time you want to grab a slice while in the downtown area.
Papa Kelsey's Has Pizza, Subs and More in Multiple Locations
Papa Kelsey's has a couple of locations in the area. They are located on Blue Lakes as well as have a location in Buhl. One thing nice about Papa Kelsey's is that they have more than just pizza. They have subs, as well as breakfast burritos, breakfast subs, and even breakfast pizza. If you crave pizza in the morning, then make sure to check out Papa Kelsey's. Their food is good and allows variety for those that may not want pizza in your family on a night that you do.
Lucy's in South Market Truly is a Hidden Gem
For a true hidden gem of a pizza place, visit Lucy's in South Market on 2nd. If there is any truly hidden place, it is this one. The only way to know it is there is to go inside South Market. Their pizza is delicious, as well as their calzones. One benefit of eating here is the environment, as well as the selections around you. If someone isn't craving pizza, they can try other types of food as well. There is also a bar area, ice cream, or coffee. The variety of pizza they have will keep you coming back to try different kinds. They sell by the slice, so if you want pizza, but don't want a whole one, this might just be the selection for you.
Eat All the Pizza You Want at Pizza Pie Café
If you can't decide on which kind of pizza to order or want to eat until you can't eat anymore, then the perfect place for you to go is Pizza Pie Café. It is a pizza, salad and pasta buffet that costs less than $10 per person and will make everyone happy. Between their salad bar, pasta, breadsticks, dessert pizzas, and regular pizzas, there is something for every member of the family. It is affordable, delicious and will guarantee everyone gets enough. They are located on Canyon Crest Drive off of Pole Line.
Idaho Pizza Company is Meant for an Idahoan
It is in the name. You can't be in Idaho and not try Idaho Pizza Company at some point in time. Their breadsticks are perfect. They are the right about of fluff and soft and delicious. Their pizza is very good and I feel very middle of the road in fluff. It isn't too thin and isn't too deep. It is just right. They offer sandwiches for those in the family that may not be craving pizza. One thing I love about Idaho Pizza Company is it reminds me of the old-school pizza parlors from back in the day. You can still go in and sit at a booth, enjoy your pizza at the restaurant and it even has the ambiance of my childhood.
The Big Chains Are Always an Option
If you are more comfortable with what you know or trust the bigger chains better that is always a choice as well. Pizza Hut, Dominoes, or Little Caesar's are all valuable options as well. Sometimes it is best to go with what you know and to keep everyone happy. They can sometimes be a little cheaper as well since they are big chains.
Smaller Chains Offer Great Pizza as Well
If you are set on sticking with a chain but don't want to go with the bigger ones, Blaze, MOD, and Papa Murphy's will offer you something a little different, but keep you in the chain category. They are more regional chains, so you get a little more local feel without going too local.
The next time you decide to have a pizza night, make sure to check around and see if you can find a new, local place you haven't tried yet. There are many around the Magic Valley and some tucked in the smaller towns surrounding. These are just a few in the main area, but there are many that your taste buds still need to discover. Branch out and try a couple of new places and who knows; you may find a new go-to pizza place.
