
Signs Point To Idaho Possibly Losing Fast Food Chain Locations
Oftentimes in business, you're here one minute and gone the next. For enterprises that have lasted for decades, closures have a much bigger impact on consumers.
In a country where many are forced to work two or more jobs just to survive, fast food has become a saving grace, especially for working adults who have multiple children.
There have been reports that one fast food chain that has operated in the United States for more than 60 years has been targeted for over 150 location closures in the near future. There are currently seven locations in Idaho, and that number could decrease in 2026.
Jack In The Box Weighing Option To Sell Popular Chain, Force Mass Closures In U.S.

QSR Magazine (online) has reported that Jack in the Box is toying with the idea of selling Del Taco, a company it purchased for close to $600 million in 2022. The move would help Jack in the Box dig out of more than $300 million in debt by 2027, according to QSR.

Idaho has Del Taco locations in Boise, Caldwell, Coeur d'Alene, Kuna, Meridian, Nampa, and Post Falls. What this potential decision for these branches could mean will likely materialize in 2026 if the sale goes through.
This news means that Twin Falls fans of the fast food chain that first opened in California in 1964, may still have to drive a good deal out of the way to get an Epic Burrito or Chili Chees Fries, as it's not likely the chain will ever expand in the Gem State.
