First South Idaho Raising Cane’s Location Could Break Ground Soon
A wave of popular chain restaurants has been expanding into southern Idaho over the past couple of years. Plans for the expansion of a popular Louisianna-based chicken restaurant with more than 700 locations across the United States have been reportedly set in motion to arrive in southern Idaho in mid-2025.
Along with the increasing number of Westerners packing up and moving into Idaho state lines, more and more restaurants are going up throughout the Gem State to accommodate the influx of appetites. Southern Idaho has seen the arrival of popular chain expansions such as In-N-Out Burger, Topgolf, Wingstop, and Texas Roadhouse since 2021, and now Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers is reportedly in the preliminary stages of designing a 2,862-square-foot restaurant in Meridian, according to boisedev.com.
Montana, Idaho, Washington, and Wyoming are the only four western states that don't presently have a location.

If Idaho's first-ever Raising Cane's does end up beginning construction this spring as it has been reported by multiple online sources, it would be a welcomed addition to the state. There are roughly 750 locations nationwide (scraphero.com), and only one (Oregon) in the Pacific Northwest, according to vinepair.com.
Montana, Idaho, Washington, and Wyoming are the only four western states that don't presently have a location. Texas (194) and California (84) have the most locations with a combined 278 restaurants, according to vinepair.com.
With as fast as these restaurants get completed after breaking ground, it's not unrealistic to think that Raising Cane's could open by May or June of next year if plans don't get interrupted or canceled. Meridian is located 11 miles west of Boise.
