Mother Nature provided some fireworks over Mother's Day weekend in southern Idaho. Numerous storm cells passed through the Magic Valley, providing even more excitement for area residents.

Mother's Day Included Cloud Bursts, Lightning, and Heavy Winds in Twin Falls.

Numerous lightning strikes could be seen in the Snake River Canyon, which made for a cool backdrop as a group of us ate lunch. One bolt was so intense that we heard it contact something Saturday afternoon; sirens could be heard a short time later.

For those with severe allergies in the Magic Valley, many probably opted to stay indoors and ride out the wind. Wind-blown pollen covered cars and trucks citywide over the weekend.
