It's incredible the things you find online that people are hocking to the highest payer. It appears McDonald's new release of nostalgic, plastic cups has resulted in an all-out bidding war, and Idaho locations are having trouble keeping them in stock.

About a week and a half ago my wife came up to me and told me about cups she thought were "cute" that McDonald's was about to release as part of their "Collector's Meal.". They are movie, cartoon, and television-themed cups that have various years printed on them to coincide with the release of the brand.

The fact that some of the locations have been sold out for days has bothered many locals. You can find the cups on websites like Mercari and eBay.

The six-set collection includes a Barbie & Hot Wheels cup, a Shrek cup, a Coca-Cola & McDonald's cup, a Hello Kitty & Peanuts cup, a Jurassic Park & Minions cup, and a Beenie Babies cup; my wife has three in the cupboard right now and is on the hunt for the remaining ones. Some people are selling the entire set online for upwards of $150, and single cups are going for $75 each from some sellers.

Even the Twin Falls Rants / Raves Facebook page mentioned people in the community trying to sell theirs and find out which cup is where in southern Idaho. The fact that some of the locations have been sold out for days has bothered many locals. You can find the cups on websites like Mercari and eBay.

Collector's Meals go for about $12. I'm not sure how long this promotion lasts, but supplies are certainly limited.
