Twin Falls Has a Problem if Swensen’s Has the Best Fried Chicken in Town
This is first world problem if I've ever seen one but if you're looking for really good fried chicken in Twin Falls, grab yourself a Snickers. It's gonna be a while.
And please don't throw the name Popeye's my way or I might have to punch you in the throat.
Onlyinyourstate ranked the best fried chicken in Idaho and it's no surprise that Twin Falls didn't come close. If you want good fried chicken, several places in the Boise area made the list. So did Moscow and Coeur d'Alene.
But you won't find Twin Falls on this list. Here's why: Twin Falls does not have good fried chicken. Period. End of story.
Now, I'm not saying we don't have some decent fried chicken around the Magic Valley. If memory serves, Depot Grill does a nice job. But when I polled the office, and not one but TWO people told me Swensen's makes the best fried chicken? That's when my head exploded. If a grocery store deli is even making your top five, what does that say about our restaurants? (No offense to Swensen's. The chicken there is good.)
And please don't throw the name Popeye's my way or I might have to punch you in the throat. (Not really. i abhor violence.) But I'm going to look at you very sternly if suggest a fast food restaurant has anything that even closely resembles authentic, REAL fried chicken. <End of rant.>
If you're looking for authentic, southern fried chicken you'll have to settle for Boise. Unless there's some place here I haven't tried yet. If I'm missing something, leave a comment and let me know.
