Yellowstone Park ‘Touron’ Walks On Hot Pool’s Edge In Flip-Flops
Yellowstone National Park, the country's first ever established, is a beloved destination that people from all over the world visit annually, and its boundaries extend into three states. Those being Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
The majestic park also attracts those with a lot less intelligence, and multiple times a month, those who report on this region of the country get alerted to acts of foolishness from tourists, or 'tourons', as they've become to be known.
In the past few weeks, we've seen 'tourons' drinking from a thermal pool, getting chased by wildlife for getting too close, and now trespassing into restricted areas known for extreme temperatures in sandals, and not even the hiking type; these were flip-flops.

No injuries were reported following the incident, which was photographed and recorded by several tourists, according to boredpanda. The man was apparently retrieving a hat that had blown into the restricted area.
Walking in restricted areas of the park will result in heavy fines and potential bans or jail time, according to the National Park Service website. Temperatures in and around these thermal pools can exceed 200 degrees, according to USGS.
Wearing sandals or flip-flops near the edge of these hot pools can result in serious burns and is never recommended. It's wise to follow all rules posted throughout the park for safety.
