Extreme Heat, High Fire Danger For Twin Falls ID Weekend
The first heatwave of spring has been forecasted for southern Idaho later in the week. By Saturday temperatures for the Magic Valley will be flirting with triple digits.
With roughly two weeks before the start of summer, residents in southern Idaho are going to get an early taste of near triple-digit weather by March 8. With most area students enjoying their first few days of summer vacation, a trip to the nearest lake or river might be a great call for the approaching weekend.
Area spots like Dierkes Lake, Centennial Park, Balanced Rock Park, and Blue Heart Springs will be great options for locals to beat the heat.
High temperatures mean high fire dangers. The one saving grace for the Magic Valley is that winds are expected to die down in the coming days. The current forecast for Twin Falls is calling for temperatures to jump into the nineties from Wednesday to Thursday. The high for Saturday will be close to 96 degrees.
Extreme heat calls for extreme preparations, and not just for yourself and your children. Pets will also feel the heat, so it's important to make sure to have plenty of water and shade available to them. If it's necessary that pets need to be taken on the road this weekend they should never be left in cars that are parked in direct sunlight with windows rolled completely up.
Area spots like Dierkes Lake, Centennial Park, Balanced Rock Park, and Blue Heart Springs will be great options for locals to beat the heat. Sunscreen, water, and beach umbrellas are possessions people should pack before heading out in the coming days.
