Scorching 5-Day Heatwave Forecasted For Twin Falls ID

The Fourth of July holiday came and went and the temperatures in southern Idaho remained relatively nice as highs reached the upper eighties for the region on Thursday. That's about to change in the form of a five-day heatwave that will blanket the Magic Valley beginning Monday (July 8).

"The Heat is On," was a 1984 hit by the late Eagles guitarist and vocalist Glen Frey. That title also describes an intense weather system that will be rearing its head to start the workweek throughout Idaho. This weekend is a great opportunity to make sure you've got plenty of water on hand, and escaping to an air-conditioned movie theatre might be a good call, especially when the middle part of the week arrives.

The worst days for those who don't care for extreme heat will be Wednesday through Friday when the average temperature for that span will be 102 degrees.

Extreme heat is bearing down on much of the western United States. Temperatures in California nearly broke records in the central and southern desert portions of the state. In southern Idaho, temperatures are expected to reach close to 100 degrees on Monday, according to current forecasts for the region.

The worst days for those who don't care for extreme heat will be Wednesday through Friday when the average temperature for that span will be 102 degrees. Wednesday's high is expected to be 105 degrees in Twin Falls. For those who have some time off and enjoy being outdoors in hot weather, there are many places to visit to soak in the rays.
