French fries are perhaps the greatest side dish ever created. When it comes to narrowing down which pub or eatery in the Gem State has the very best, many Idahoans swear they can be found 80 miles north of Twin Falls in the city of Ketchum.

There are just some foods that I'd be alright eating every day for the rest of my life. We've all been asked at least one time in our lives the questions, "If you were stranded on a deserted island and could only have two (or three) things, what would they be?" And, "If a genie could grant you three wishes, what would they be?"

My response to these queries would definitely include something food-related that I'd never grow tired of. An endless amount of French fries might make the list regarding being stranded, and maybe a radio so I could follow the news and hear whatever nearby island might be playing Caribbean music, and a kayak would come in handy.

Genies don't exist, so I won't hold my breath. To avoid being a fun sponge, let's go with universal healthcare for all, the fanciest superyacht in the world with a captain to take me and my family anywhere we wanted, and enough cash to last an eternity. There you go.

Getting back to French fries now. A great deal of Idaho Internet buzz surrounds the Monkey Fries made at Lefty's Bar & Grill in Ketchum. The foodie website Burger Theory even mentions the fries as being a top 10 must-try in the Gem State. Apparently, you can't go wrong with a burger and this twist on the traditional fried spud strip at Lefty's.
