More than 160,000 National Football League fans gathered outside of Green Bay's Lambeau Field Thursday night to watch the league's 2025 draft live. The first running back to be selected in the draft wore number two for the Boise State Broncos for three years and nearly became college football's all-time single-season leading rusher during the 2024-2025 season.

The atmosphere was electric in Green Bay, Wisconsin Thursday night for the 2025 NFL Draft. The scene looked like a Woodstock concert with fans from all 32 teams worked into a football frenzy. I sat watching the broadcast on ESPN, and at approximately 6:45 P.M. (Mountain Time) Boise State superstar running back Ashton Jeanty was taken by the Las Vegas Raiders with the sixth overall pick.

Jeanty rushed for 2,601 yards and had 30 touchdowns last season (29 rushing / 1 receiving) for BSU.

Ashton Jeanty grinned from ear to ear after Commissioner Roger Goodell read his name. He became the highest drafted football player in Boise State's history. As a big fan of former Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, Jeanty will play for Coach Pete Carroll, who guided and helped mold Lynch for several seasons.

Jeanty was asked by a reporter while standing on stage wearing a Raiders hat, what he would bring to "Sin City." Jeanty mentioned the "big play ability" that Boise State fans witnessed while he wore the blue from 2022 to 2025 as his strong point.

Jeanty rushed for 2,601 yards and had 30 touchdowns last season (29 rushing / 1 receiving) for BSU. In all, he rushed for 4,769 yards and 50 touchdowns in his three seasons playing on the famous blue turf in southwestern Idaho, according to NCAA.com.
