For those Idahoans that have been slowly knocking favorite scary movies off your must-see Halloween list, there's a pretty decent drama starring a very familiar lead that is available for streaming and was filmed in Twin Falls. It's not the scariest movie I've ever seen by a landslide, but it does have some good acting and familiar sights for those who live in the Magic Valley.

Did you know there's actually a movie called Magic Valley? It came out in 2011, and was filmed throughout southern Idaho. It's a drama starring a very familiar and underrated actor by the name of Scott Glenn. You might recognize Glenn from films like The Silence of the Lambs, Training Day, The Bourne Legacy, and Marvel's The Defenders. He plays Idaho detective Ed Halfner in the movie and is assisting in the investigation of a young girl found dead.

I found the film, which scored a 40 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, on ROKU. It's streaming currently on Prime Video and VUDU Fandango. It's unrated and contains some curse words and mild violence. It's not a bad movie at all, and is certainly better than the newest Halloween Ends film. Man, did that one suck!

I'd give Magic Valley a solid C+, and the dramatic appeal of the movie and familiar south Idaho landmarks make it a fun addition to anyone's Halloween movie marathon. It's just under 90-minutes and was directed by Jaffe Zinn, who has also worked on the highly popular series Criminal Minds.
