It's been an extremely warm summer in southern Idaho. Multiple fires are still burning in central and southern Idaho, and the potential for rain this week should be a much-welcomed sight for state firefighters. There's presently a 46 percent chance of rain throughout the Magic Valley for Tuesday night, with wind gusts up to 10 miles per hour.

Saturday (September 17) there's also a 36 percent chance of morning showers for the Twin Falls area. Tropical Storm Kay brought some much-needed moisture over the weekend to some areas in the west, including Nevada and California. Late-summer storms are common in southern Idaho, and maybe residents will be treated to some thunder and lightning activity.

It might not be a bad idea to have that umbrella near you when you leave work Tuesday. Wednesday through Friday appear to be mostly dry, with some lingering cloud cover.
